RJA #9b: Argument

Special education students get a better education when being mainstreamed.

Arguments:
FOR:
I. Mainstreaming makes the disabled student feel normal and in the end will make them produce at a higher level.

II. Malaysian survey showed that a over 50 percent felt that mainstreaming student was beneficial for the student.

III. Mainstreaming will the special education students by setting up standards that they normally would not have in a fully disabled school.

IV. Will help the students in the classroom understand that there is more out there then just mainstream students, will make them deal with real issues.

AGAINST:
I. One teacher will not be adequate for a mainstreamed classroom, costing more money.

II. More severe children will need extra help in the classroom.

III. Teachers are not trained properly for the mainstreaming a classroom.
