RJA #9c: Presentation Plan

I. Intro
a. Thesis: Special education students get a better education when being mainstreamed.
II. First Body Paragraph
a. Argument
b. Mainstreaming makes the disabled students feel normal.
i. Produce at a higher level.
III. Second Body Paragraph
a. Argument
b. Malaysian survey showed that over 50 percent felt that mainstreaming student was beneficial for the student.
i. Showed teacher supported mainstreaming.
IV. Third Body Paragraph
a. Argument
b. Mainstreaming will the help special education students by setting up standards that they normally would not have in a fully disabled school.
i. Establishing life long rules.
V. Fourth Body Paragraph
a. Argument
b. Will help the students in the classroom understand that there is more out there then just mainstream students.
i. Will make them deal with real issues.
VI. Fifth Body Paragraph
a. Counter Argument
b. One teacher will not be adequate for a mainstreamed classroom.
i. Costing more money.

b. More severe children will need extra help in the classroom.
i. Have to hire additional help.

b. Teachers are not trained properly for the mainstreaming a classroom.
i. Cost teachers money they did not want to spend on education.

i. Schools support teachers getting master or continuing college.
ii. Federal level supports school with more money if mainstream education meets federal statutes.
X. Conclusions
i. I’m for mainstreaming special education.
